George A. Petrossian, M.D., has been at St. Francis Hospital for 20 years and is the Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Procedures. He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and then completed a residency in internal medicine and cardiology at Presbyterian Hospital NY, followed by his interventional cardiology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Petrossian is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, vascular medicine, and endovascular medicine. He is consistently recognized by Castle Connolly as one of the “Best Doctors” in America and has developed an expertise in coronary intervention, carotid stenting, peripheral vascular disease, and trans-catheter aortic valve implantation. Dr. Petrossian has been involved in numerous clinical research trials and was the first physician on Long Island to perform carotid stenting and trans-catheter aortic valve implantation.
